BEGINNING OF A SWEET NIGHTMARE



Do you ever dream of starting a new, being someone that you could never be as you are now? Someone that succeeds? Happiness, fulfilment, anything to escape the nightmare of living the dread of the life you have to now? What if we were able to turn your dream into an inescapable nightmare. We have a story for you, open your eyes since you have taken your vow.

“Where am I?”

You open your eyes only to see yourself alone in a thick forest, having been unconscious and left there for who knows how long. You know you shouldn’t be here yet this is where you lay, slowly getting up to try and catch your bearings until a small voice comes up behind you;

“Are you lost?”

It is sweet but from someone tiny as you look to see a child with green eyes with roses atop their head like a crown holding a light in the dark for you, they look like a little saviour, an angel even with that crown. Her smile is sweet and gentle to you, “Are you hurt? Do you need help getting up!” She holds her hand to you. It feels so warming and welcoming for being so small.

Reluctant you take the small childs hand but mostly help yourself up, the child keeping hold of your hand, “Let me hold you out of the forest, it’s not safe to be alone.” She holds her lantern up to light the way for you both, that’s when you notice the boy there with a axe in his hand leaned over his shoulder staring at you coldly.

Still even you follow the children through the forest, noticing their similar features, twins easy to spot. Noticing as the boy falls behind and the girl leads on ahead, she begins to talk excitedly how happy she is to have you in the garden. She says it must have been scary to accept your vow but once you get use to things here you will start to be happy she is sure.

You stop confused, pulling away and ask about what vow, your memory foggy. You just want to leave.

The boy steps ahead and slams his axe down through some foliage in the way, looking back past at what seems to be something lurking in the distance, saying there is no going back. Only forward;

“You can’t leave once you said your vow...”

What vow? They are speaking nonsense! You want to run away from these kids, the little girl takes your hand away with a sweet smile and tells you it will be okay, they will protect you, you just have to stay with them. You all move forward.

“You don’t remember making your vow? You had to have asked to be released from this world. That’s why we are here, To take you to the Garden! It’s the place that everyone wants to go!” Though her smile seemed more sad, “Though it’s not as dreamy as one would seem.” She said in quiet whisper.

You felt too nervous to comment, your feet heavy, but something even more so off. You notice your heart wasn’t racing, the normal face pace beat of your chest was gone! No instead there was the sound of ticking if you listened hard enough, just like a hand clock. What happened to your body?

You finally poke and the twins stopped and looked to you, the boy speaking this time;

“You have made the vow, there is no escape for you now.
The chained has locked you to us and holds you knowing you are one of us..
Your heart is nothing but a fragile clock.
If you are to try and leave now, you will break apart.”

Your vision seems dazed and your ears ring like you heard those words before, you hold your stomach as you feel you are about to pass out again.

The girl holds your hand and smiles big, pulling you once more, “Let’s see if we if you can make this nightmare into a sweet dream!”
